GRÜNWERK is a privately funded family office founded in 2015, headquartered in Munich. We manage and develop a long-term portfolio of manufacturing companies, commercial properties, and special-use real estate across German-speaking Europe and selected European markets.

Our capital is 100% private. We operate without external investors, without fund structures, without public reporting. Decisions are made quietly, directly, and with a long-term horizon.

THE FOUNDER

Dr. Friedrich
von Thurn

(b. 1974)

Born in Stuttgart. Studied economics at WHU Vallendar and London School of Economics. Began his career as a trader on the floor of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) in 1997 – first natural gas and crude oil derivatives, later cross-asset volatility strategies.

After eleven years in New York, he returned to Germany in 2008. Instead of rejoining a bank, he began acquiring his first industrial operations – a struggling automotive supplier in Baden-Württemberg, later a precision mechanics factory in Saxony.

By 2015, he had consolidated his holdings into a single structure: GRÜNWERK.

Friedrich lives with his family near the Starnberger See. He is not a public figure. He does not give interviews. Photographs of him are not published.

All sites are operated under long-term management contracts. GRÜNWERK does not interfere in daily operations. We advise on strategy, capital allocation, and succession planning – then leave execution to operational leadership.
